Assumption Day, formally is The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven, is a beliefe in most Christians faiths, that upon completion of the Virgin Mary of her earthly life, she was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. Orthodox church believe that she was Assumed after her death and burial, while some Roman Catholics might interpret it differently. The Assumption did not become the official dogma of the Roman Catholic Church until Pope Pius XII ruled it so in 1950. In many countries and churches, Assumption Day is a major feast day, commonly celebrated on August 15.
