Since time in memorial, Thailand has relied of the faith of Buddhism as guiding light for society and for establishing inner peace. When is Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival 2012
In 2012 around 3rd of Aug the 7th Thailand International Wax Sculpture at Ubon Ratchathani Candle Procession Festival.
This festival is an opportunity to explore and witness the beauty of art of wax created by artists from around the world. All peaces of art of the exhibition are carefully selected. Some artists who create their work to be displayed are also members of the world sculpture association. They all come to create work under the one concept of Global Cooling at Thailand. The venue for this event is the international wax sculpture ground Ubon Ratchathani national museum. Artists from all around the world are interested in taking part to create an art piece from wax. However, the organizing committee has selected only those from nine countries mainly Italy, Germany, turkey, Mexico, Ukraine, Luxemburg, India, Japan and the people republic of china, sending an ice lantern carver from the well-known city of Harbin, which has excelled in this form art for over hundred years. Besides one native artist to Ubon Ratchathani, representing the new generation of artist of this land of the lotus is also participating in creating a peace of art too. Tourists and spectators can admire the working technique of the sculptures and enjoy watching the wax art through out the month of Aug. Dazzling display of lantern candles around Thung Si Muang Park.
